Neil Liddy
Relief Pitcher | Cold Lake Mud Cats
Pitching When his release point drops below three-quarters, his fastball tends to hang in the strike zone. The Cold Lake Mud Cats hope he can work on his control a little bit. Every once and a while one slips away from him and either ends up at the backstop or in the right field bleachers. Because he can't overpower hitters, Liddy has to fool them instead. The running movement on his pitches makes life tougher on lefties than righties.
Defense & Hitting Liddy is nothing special in the field. Basestealers have succeeded against Liddy because his pickoff move is weak for a lefthander. Liddy is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Liddy has some pop in his swing.
