Tylar Ehrle
Starting Pitcher | Retired or Inactive Players
Pitching He keeps the ball down and gets a lot of groundballs. He's a good late inning man, which is when being a pitcher really counts. He struggles with his command at times and is still learning to mix his pitches and set up hitters. When his release point drops below three-quarters, his fastball tends to hang in the strike zone. He traditionally fares better against lefties.
Defense & Hitting His pickoff move is only fair. Ehrle is nothing special in the field. Ehrle is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Ehrle has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The Retired or Inactive Players have been known to use Ehrle as a pinch-runner on occasion.
