Nathan Waiariki   Catcher | Free Agents Hitting In past seasons, Waiariki has been a bit of a liability with men on base. The book on Waiariki is that you can knock the bat out of his hands with an average major league fastball. Waiariki always has been a line-drive hitter who uses the entire field. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency. Baserunning & Defense Waiariki isn't a fluid catcher, but he's not afraid to get dirty and gets the job done. His arm is accurate enough. Waiariki is an intelligent baserunner with average speed, but he's not a basestealing threat. 2025 Outlook I can't say I know what The Free Agents were doing locking this guy up to a long term contract.
