Giff Tanikella   Catcher | Retired or Inactive Players Hitting Tanikella never has been a patient hitter. But Giff's detracters are quick to call attention to his ongoing struggles at the plate with men on base. Tanikella always has been a line-drive hitter who uses the entire field. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency. Baserunning & Defense His defense is solid but unspectacular. His arm is accurate enough. Tanikella doesn't have great speed, though he reads righthanders' moves well enough to steal a handful of bases each season without getting caught very often. 2024 Outlook Tanikella flat-out isn't ready for this level of competition.
