Nial Kohl   Catcher | Free Agents Hitting One of the nice things about Nial is that he's a real clutch hitter. The book on Kohl is that you can knock the bat out of his hands with an average major league fastball. Let's face facts: Kohl hits a lot of ground balls... and in my book, if you're slow of foot and put the ball on the ground, you're bound to get tied up in the double play. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency. Baserunning & Defense Kohl isn't a good baserunner. He doesn't get good jumps on steals nor runs sharp routes around the bases. Kohl is a poor defensive catcher. He isn't very mobile or adept at blocking balls in the dirt. Runners take advantage of his weak arm. 2024 Outlook What The Free Agents was thinking when they signed Kohl to a long contract, is beyond me: this guy flat-out sucks.           -- Moostard Nyman
