Terry Kimple
First Baseman | Yellowknife Bluenotes
Hitting With his ability to hit for average and his sound batting eye, he makes a good No. 2 hitter. He has the mental discipline to handle clutch situations. Let's face facts: Kimple hits a lot of ground balls... and in my book, if you're slow of foot and put the ball on the ground, you're bound to get tied up in the double play. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency. Kimple tends to zone in on the power-alleys. Most of his outfield hits are to left and right center.
Baserunning & Defense Kimple isn't a fluid first baseman, but he's not afraid to get dirty and gets the job done. His arm is accurate enough. He generally takes one base at a time, though he'll take advantage if an outfielder gets lackadaisical.
