Tony Dent@
Catcher | Free Agents
Hitting The book on Dent is that you can knock the bat out of his hands with an average major league fastball. Dent always has been a line-drive hitter who uses the entire field. Even though you might not start him, he's not a bad guy to have on your bench for the tough left-handed reliever.
Baserunning & Defense Dent isn't a fluid catcher, but he's not afraid to get dirty and gets the job done. His biggest problem in the field simply has to be his throwing arm... it's well below par. Dent isn't a good baserunner. He doesn't get good jumps on steals nor runs sharp routes around the bases.
2025 Outlook What The Free Agents was thinking when they signed Dent to a long contract, is beyond me: this guy flat-out sucks.
