Faingaa Davis
Starting Pitcher | Port Hope Battery
Pitching He's got a really stong arm, so he can blow it by you on occasion. He's a good late inning man, which is when being a pitcher really counts. Davis's fastball is a tick above average, in the 90-91 MPH range on most nights. The Port Hope Battery hope he can work on his control a little bit. Every once and a while one slips away from him and either ends up at the backstop or in the right field bleachers. He attacks lefties and righties with similar success.
Defense & Hitting Davis would seem to be an easy target for basestealers as he has a pedestrian pickoff move. But teams rarely try to run on him, perhaps because his pitches get to the plate quickly. Davis has been regarded as a poor fielder throughout his career, and last year was no different. Davis is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Davis has some pop in his swing.
2025 Outlook The Port Hope Battery signed him to a long-term contract, but don't think they won't drop Davis like a hot potato if something better comes along.
