Chito Berger   Starting Pitcher | Retired or Inactive Players Pitching He keeps the ball down and gets a lot of groundballs. Berger can get into trouble with walks, and there's concern about him being able to maintain his stuff over the whole season. Sometimes I wish he'd just give up on throwing the changeup, it's like a BP ball! He's almost as effective against righthanders as he is versus lefthanders. It's hard to explain but Chito Berger plays much better on the road then he does at home. Defense & Hitting For a lefty, his move to first base is average at best, and he has a tendency to forget about runners at second, thereby creating opportunities to swipe third. Berger is nothing special in the field. Berger is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Berger has some pop in his swing.
